Report Templates (for download)

Before downloading a template, you should already know whether or not you want to publish in the Natural Resource Report (NRR) or Natural Resource Data Series (NRDS) report series.

Because software programs and NPS publication polices change over time, you should always wait and do the final layout of your report using a template downloaded within six months of submitting the final report for publication.

Trained and Approved Adobe InDesign Layout Specialists

NRR and NRDS reports generated using Adobe InDesign are only accepted from trained and approved layout specialists who typically publish 10 or more new NRPM reports each year. Why?

  • Software and official DOI, NPS, and NRPM publication policies constantly change over time.
  • Historically, each new report sent to us from less-frequent Adobe InDesign contributors have typically resulted in 4-6 extra hours of work for NRPM staff. Time and budget constraints no longer allow NRPM staff to dedicate so many working hours to individual reports.

Please contact us if you

  • Desire to use more complicated layout elements than are allowed with our NRPM MS Word templates. These services are usually not provided for free.
  • Are a NPS employee or contractor who wants to receive training and guidance to become a dedicated NPS Adobe InDesign layout expert for NRPM reports (i.e., you plan to do the final layout for 10 or more NRR or NRDS reports each year).

NPS Proprietary Fonts for Download

NPS proprietary fonts are used in all NRPM Adobe InDesign templates. There are special copyright agreement rules for supplying these fonts to partners and/or contractors outside the NPS.
