Shorelines are dynamic environments where wave action and tides work continuously to shape and reshape the coastlines. An understanding of the geologic processes that are active in these areas leads to a deeper appreciation of the breathtaking features that can be found on coasts.
With such a wide variety of national parks located on coasts, lakeshores, and rivers, there is a wealth of coastal geology knowledge waiting to be learned.
