Repairing the Damage

As the Organic Act of 1916 states, preserving the natural ecosystems found within our National Parks is one of the primary focuses of the National Park Service. Therefore, restoration of native ecosystems is the ultimate goal of removing invasive species from our National Parks.

Restoration can be passive or active, depending on the amount of disturbance caused by the invasive species and the type of ecosystem that was damaged.
