Muskeget Island

An isolated, sandy island, Muskeget Island, is part of the terminal moraine marking the maximum extent of the last glacial ice sheet to reach the northeastern coast. It is the only known locality where the Muskeget vole is found and is considered the southernmost breeding area for grey seal.
