Longhorn Cavern

Located within Longhorn Cavern State Park, Longhorn Cavern was formed in limestone of Ordovician Age at least 450 million years old. Unsurpassed as a natural exhibit of features such as calcite crystals, potholes, solution domes, channels and pits, the cave is an outstanding example of features formed during the phreatic (groundwater) phase of development.
