Sims Corner Eskers and Kame Complex
National Natural Landmark

Photo of Sims Corner Eskers and Kame Complex
Sims Corner Esker and Kame Complex contains the best examples in the Columbia Plateau biophysiographic province of landforms resulting from stagnation and rapid retreat of the ice sheet during the last glaciation. The ice stagnation features at the site, including eskers and kame deposits, are highly visible and well-preserved owing to the arid climate and lack of vegetation, and so are perhaps the most illustrative of such features in the United States. Ownership: Federal, State, private.
