The Lawrence Memorial Grassland Preserve is an excellent illustration of "biscuit and scabland" topography within the Columbia Plateau. It was formed by frost action during the Wisconsin glaciation period of the Pleistocene. The site is also known for its diverse plant communities. Ownership: Private.
