Mount Monadnock, a prominent, isolated, relict mountain, is the type locality of a monadnock. The mountain also exhibits conspicuous effects of Pleistocene glacial erosion including striations, roche moutonnées or sheepbacks, and an over-steepened profile resulting from glacial plucking. Ownership: State, municipal, private.
