Established in October 2000, the
Ocean Alaska Science & Learning Center (OASLC) is a partnership
dedicated to understanding and preserving the marine ecosystem connecting
Alaska's National Parks through research and education.
Examples of initiatives:
* Research support for a harbor seal study based in Aialik Bay of
Kenai Fjords National Park and the Alaska SeaLife Center; ongoing
support for a coastal black bear habitat usage survey in Kenai Fjords
National Park (in partnership with University of Alaska Fairbanks);
a black oystercatcher nesting
success study; and an archaeological/ethnography
