This center, hosted by Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, was established in 2002 to facilitate research in eleven national parks and adjacent waters in the Great Lakes Region, and to provide educational opportunities to gain new knowledge about natural and cultural resources. The center establishes public-private partnerships and collaborative efforts that communicate scientific information to enhance resource management and foster greater public support for management decisions based on sound science.
