Three areas of geography define the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway: the Rockaway Peninsula, Jamaica Bay and Floyd Bennett Field. These 13,000+ acres of the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens form a microcosm of what makes Gateway National Recreation Area great: complex natural resources, military history and abundant recreation areas.
