American Geological Institute (AGI)
AGI is the umbrella professional organization of the geoscience community. They track diversity-related statistics, focus on professional development, and strive to increase public awareness of the geosciences. AGI keeps most of the diversity statistics for the geoscience community. A search on "diversity" brings up a variety of articles and PowerPoint presentations.

Center for Diversity and the Environment
The Center for Diversity and the Environment helps provides strategic direction on diversifying the environmental movement through the development of effective and sustainable diversity efforts. This website provides information about efforts, organizations, people, research, and a variety of strategies that are successful in diversifying the environmental movement and natural resource-related fields.

Disability and Business Technial Assistance Center Network
The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research has established a network of 10 regional Disability and Business Technical Assistance Centers. The DBTACs form a comprehensive national network for the provision of information and referrals, technical assistance, public awareness and training on all aspects of the American with Disabilities Act.

Diversity Central
A business center for managing diversity and developing "cultural intelligence." Cultural Intelligence is an essential ingredient for business success in the 21st century. It is a vital competency for building relationships and getting things done with employees, customers (e.g. park visitors), and partners. Services, directories, diversity store, articles, and activities are part of this site.

The premier source of original, managerial-level information on the business benefits of diversity. This site includes regular features on diversity management, best practices, emerging markets, recruitment and retention, leadership, legal issues and more.

Diversity Research Lab
The Department of Leisure Studies at the University of Illinois has established the Diversity Research Laboratory (DRL) to facilitate, produce and disseminate multidisciplinary research dedicated to understanding leisure as it relates to the richness that diversity brings to community life. Research projects conducted within the laboratory explore the relationships between ethnicity, race, gender issues, aging, disability, lifestyle choices, immigration status and leisure.

Earthwise Productions
Promoting diversity in the great outdoors. Earthwise Productions is a professional environmental consulting firm specializing in bringing together two worlds: The pristine natural environment and the inner cities. Their goal is to demonstrate how there is only one environment and to show how we all affect and are affected by it every day.

Environmental Justice Resource Center
The Environmental Justice Resource Center (EJRC) at Clark Atlanta University was formed in 1994 to serve as a research, policy, and information clearinghouse on issues related to environmental justice, race and the environment, civil rights, facility siting, land use planning, brownfields, transportation equity, suburban sprawl, and Smart Growth. The overall goal of the center is to assist, support, train, and educate people of color students, professionals, and grassroots community leaders with the goal of facilitating their inclusion into the mainstream of environmental decision-making. The center is multi-disciplinary in its focus and approach. It serves as a bridge among the social and behavioral sciences, natural and physical sciences, engineering, management, and legal disciplines to solve environmental problems.

MentorNet
Arranges for mentoring of women students of science and engineering by women in industry. Mentoring is via e-mail.

Minority Environmental Leadership Development Initiative
A new project launched by the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment. The project aims to enhance the leadership and career development opportunities available to minority students and minority environmental professionals. The project seeks to provide information that will help more minority students embark on careers in the environmental field. It is also designed to help minority students and professionals in the environmental field take advantage of networking and mentoring opportunities.

Mountain Institute: Sacred Mountains Program
Partnership with the NPS
The Mountain Institute is working with the U.S. National Park Service to develop interpretive and educational materials and activities based on the cultural and spiritual significance of mountains in mainstream America, Native American, and other cultures around the world.

National Association of Black Geologists and Geophysicists (NABGG)
NABGG will diligently increase minority representation in the geosciences through partnerships with academia and by mentoring undergraduate as well as graduate students. They also provide scholarships for students. They are committed to the continuous training and development of aspiring and practicing geoscientists.

National Hispanic Environmental Council
The NHEC is a national, non-profit organization that seeks to educate, unite, and engage the Hispanic community on environmental and sustainable development issues; encourage Hispanics to actively work to preserve and protect our environment; provide a national voice for Hispanics before federal, state, and non-profit environmental decision-makers; and actively assist Hispanics to pursue the many career, business, educational, and policy opportunities in the environment and natural resources field.

National MultiCultural Institute
The mission of NMCI is to work with individuals, organizations, and communities in creating a society that is strengthened and empowered by its diversity. Through its initiatives, NMCI leads efforts to increase communication, understanding, and respect among people of diverse backgrounds and addresses some of the important issues of multiculturalism facing our society. This is accomplished through conferences in the spring and fall, individualized organizational training and consulting services, publications, and leading edge projects.

Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)
The mission of SACNAS is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for science research, leadership, and teaching careers at all levels.  For over 30 years, SACNAS has provided strong national leadership in improving and expanding opportunities for minorities in the scientific workforce and academia; mentoring college students within science, mathematics and engineering; as well as, supporting quality pre-college science education. Resources and tools include: Annual National Conference, K-12 teacher workshops, summer research opportunities, E-mentoring Program, and online internship/job placement resources.

Women's Bureau
This mission of this Dept of Labor web site is to promote profitable employment opportunities for women, to empower them by enhancing their skills and improving their working conditions, and to provide employers with more alternatives to meet their labor needs. This site includes a variety of resources such as a newsroom, labor statistics, publications, highlights, fact sheets and more.

Women Into Science and Technology
Aims to attract and retain women in mathematics and science courses and careers through a multi-level activity and mentoring program.
