Split Cinder Cone

spacer image The split cinder cone is located just west of the unpaved West Side Road, about two miles northwest of the southern junction between the West Side Road and the Badwater Road. This junction is located 43 miles south of the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. The West Side Road is usually accessible to passenger cars, except after periods of rain.

Suggestions for your visit

spacer image There is no trail, but the top of the cinder cone can be reached by a short hike of about two hundred yards. The views of the Black Mountains are beautiful at sunset.
