Haleakala National Park Air Quality Monitoring
Air Atlas is a GIS database of air quality estimates for 270 parks that are part of the NPS Inventory and Monitoring Program. These estimates can be used when on-site monitoring data is not available.
Atmospheric Deposition Monitoring
Deposition of atmospheric pollutants is not monitored in Haleakala NP. The closest wet and dry deposition monitors are located in Hawaii Volcanoes NP. Data from these samplers indicate that sulfur deposition is relatively high on Hawaii; southeasterly winds periodically carry volcanic sulfur emissions to Maui, likely resulting in episodes of high sulfur deposition in Haleakala NP.

Ozone is not monitored in Haleakala NP.
Visibility in Haleakala NP has been monitored as part of the Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual Environments (IMPROVE) network, using an aerosol sampler (1991-present) and an automatic 35mm camera (1987-1995).
