What You Can Do to Help the Park
Each of these issues: development in the flood plain, smoke from campfires and wood burning stoves, crowding and air pollution and congestion caused by too much traffic, and light pollution impacting night sky visibility, plus many more, are being addressed by park management. The Yosemite Valley Plan (YVP) spells out the vision of the valley for the future. Architectural guidelines are being developed to minimize the impact of renovations on the park, and to maximize the amount of recycling and waste minimization in all park operations and visitor services.

Electric ShuttleYou can help Yosemite National Park protect it's natural beauty and healthy environment by making a few simple choices. Try taking a shuttle bus from one of the Park's gateway communities to help reduce traffic congestion, noise and air pollution. Use a camp stove in place of a campfire, recycle and reduce waste and water consumption. Using and promoting sustainable practices in Yosemite can help reduce air pollution and its impacts to human health and the health of the environment.
