Even the landscape seems alive in this land of soaring peaks and magnificent canyons. Nearly 200 caves wind through the parks' marble. Mighty rivers like the Kaweah, Kern and Kings carve some of the deepest canyons in North America. Towering summits in the High Sierra slowly crumble and fall as erosion leaves its mark. Spectacular vistas are everywhere Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, and the archeological record indicates that people may have been marveling at these views for over 3000 years.
