rotecting scenic vistas and air quality go hand in hand.
In 1860, William H. Brewer, a young Yale-educated natural sciences teacher
trained in botany was invited by Josiah Whitney to assist in the first
geological survey of California. On September 28, 1863, Brewer ascended Mt.
Lassen and wrote eloquently about the panoramic views from the summit.
The above picture was taken from the top of Mt. Lassen the day of that
ascent. Take the following air quality tour of Lassen Volcanic National Park as
seen from Lassen Peak.
