Ozone Sensitive Species -- Training Home page
This webpage provides access to training modules that will help a student learn to evaluate the percent of foliar injury on ozone sensitive plant species. First, enter the number (between 1 and 20) of plant leaf images you want to use for training. Next, click on a plant image to link to a module for that species.
Each species-specific training module will access a series of pages, each with an image of a leaf with foliar injury. The student will be asked to estimate the percent injury on the leaf and will be given a multiple choice selection of answers (a-f). After each choice, the student will be given the correct answer. Final results with a grade for each species will be provided on the score page.
Please note that in the field, foliar injury caused by insects, fungi, or diseases, may appear similar to ozone injury. We advise anyone considering an ozone injury field survey to enlist the assistance of a plant pathologist. For more information, contact the Air Resources Division.
