Comments on Draft Revised FLAG Phase I Report
The FLAG report provides guidance to new source permit applicants on how to assess air pollution impacts on visibility and other air quality related values in parks and wilderness areas. The Federal Land Managers (FLMs) originally published FLAG in 2000. The science and regulatory framework has evolved since that time. Therefore, the FLMs embarked on a process to update the FLAG report. The draft revised report was announced for public review and comment via a July 8, 2008, notice in the Federal Register.The public comment period closed on September 8, 2008. The FLMs are reviewing the comments received and intend to prepare a "Response to Comment" document, make appropriate changes, and then finalize the guidance document.
