Air Atlas
Air Atlas is a GIS database of air quality estimates for 270 parks that are part of the NPS Inventory and Monitoring Program. These estimates can be used when on-site monitoring data is not available.

Atmospheric Deposition Monitoring
Both wet deposition (site #ME98) and dry deposition (site #ACA416) are monitored in Acadia NP.

Final Report: Assessment of Long-term Air Quality Programmatic, Monitoring and Research Needs
In October 2002, staff of Acadia NP and the National Park Service (NPS) Northeast Regional Office initiated a process to assess long-term programmatic, monitoring, and research needs relative to park air quality. The final report is available to be viewed or downloaded at the link provided below.

Mercury Monitoring
A Mercury Deposition Network (MDN) site has been monitoring mercury in wet deposition in the park since 1995 (site #ME98).

Night Skies
Optical monitoring to collect baseline data on night sky brightness is scheduled for completion in Fall 2005 at Acadia NP. The optical measurement will produce, not only a measure of night sky brightness and identification of light pollution sources, but also a measure of the effect on light scattering caused by fine particulates and other air pollutants, and moisture.

Ultraviolet Radiation (UV) Monitoring
UV radiation is monitored in Acadia NP as part of the PRIMENet program.

Ozone Monitoring
Ozone has been monitored at three sites in Acadia NP- Park Headquarters site ID# 230090101, (1982-1997), Cadillac Mountain, site ID# 230090102, (1995- present), and McFarland Hill, site ID# 230090103, (1998- present).

Visibility Monitoring
As part of the Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual Environments (IMPROVE) network, visual air quality in Acadia NP has been monitored using an aerosol sampler (1987 through the present), nephelometer (1993 through the present), and 35mm camera (1980 through 1995).
