Map Viewer Information

Overview

Data collected from the monitoring networks has been averaged over 5 years and interpolation maps of the United States created. Each of the measured parameters can be viewed, queried, or scaled in the Air Atlas viewer. The NPS operates monitors in each of the networks and created these maps to estimate values in park units that do not currently have monitors.

Left-side Tools

These allow one to zoom, pan, turn off inset, query layer items, and apply other actions to the currently active layer.

  2. Once the map viewer has opened, select the layers that you wish to view from the column on the right of the screen.
  3. Click the "Refresh map" button at the bottom of the right-side column
  4. To query or explore the maps using the tools on the left side, select the layer of interest from the right-side column and click the "Active" button beside that layer.  You will not need to refresh the map.
